CTE connecting the perspective of engineering and drawing

CTE connecting the perspective of engineering and drawing
Listen to the article

They say there’s six degrees of connection in the world. At Pelahatchie, our teachers love that there are less than three feet of separation between subjects. Mrs. Nutt’s CTE - Engineering I students are learning about the purpose of technical drawing and freehand sketches. Presenting a mini demonstration workshop, Mr. Jordan (PHS Art teacher) stopped by and gave a lesson on perspective drawing, demonstrating how artists use vanishing points to create depth and dimension on a flat surface. Students followed along and drew their own perspective drawing of a house, applying the techniques demonstrated. “Scientists study the world as it is, engineers create the world that never has been." - Theodore von Kármán (The First National Medal of Science recipient, 1962) We love seeing our Engineering students leveling up and the real-world applications they apply.
