Congratulations to Tyra N. Jones, an Alcorn graduating senior, who is from “the beautiful small town of Pelahatchie,” and is graduating with a B.S in Education and Psychology on May 11th.
Jones is thankful to the university and her degree department for providing the best 4 years of her life at Alcorn and guiding her in the right direction to be great in life after Alcorn. Jones states that she has had some good and some bad days, but the good outweighs the bad and she really appreciate the friends she made along the way and the motivation that they gave to keep pushing and to help achieve the goals that Jones set for herself. Her accomplishments include Miss NSLS: ‘22-‘23, Deans Scholar~ Fall’23, Spring ‘23 initiate of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated: Historian ‘23-‘24 and Event Coordinator ‘24.
Jones will be attending the graduation ceremony at Alcorn State University. The ceremony is to be held on May 11th, at 1 pm.
