Kyleigh Irby, an honors student at Pisgah High School, competed in three different archery events on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the State Archery Match. She competed in the Extreme Division, an event that’s new to both her and the school. She scored a 294, earning the title of Top Female Archer in the Extreme Division.
In the first competition, Irby shot a 293 in the traditional bullseye style. This earned her top female out of 1,114 female high school archers.
On Friday, April 11, she took part in the All-Stars Match, which featured 144 of the top archers in the state, selected based on their South State scores. Irby delivered a personal best and set a new school record with a score of 295. This was not only the top score in her division but also the highest score among all 144 All-Star competitors.
Irby concentrates on this one sport because “she loves archery,” her dad said. She goes to the B & B Archery Range in Pearl to practice just about every Saturday. She joined the Pisgah Archery Team in the seventh grade.
Irby is the daughter of Kyle and Rachel Irby and has an 8-year-old sister, Raegan.
