The All-Sports award is earned through a points system tracked by MAIS. Each sport has a range of points awarded based on whether it is a major or minor sport. The top four teams in each division and sport earn points. Both boys and girls results are combined for an overall total. If you go to MSAIS.org and click on athletics, you can see the All Sports Award on the left side bar. The final standings for each class at school year end can be found here: https://home.msais.org/test/athletics/all_sports_award/all_sports_current_standings.php.
East Rankin’s win consisted of the following sport team finishes:
Girls Soccer – 2nd – 7 points
Girls Cross Country – 1st – 6 points
Boys Cross Country – 2nd – 4 points
Girls Basketball – 1st –10 points
Boys Soccer – 1st –10 points
Girls Track – 2nd – 7 points
Boys Track – 3rd – 5 points
This adds up to a point total of 49 (see 5A Class listing).
