Crooked Creek Animal Hospital holds raffle for local pup who serves the community

Starting this month, Crooked Creek Animal Hospital is collecting raffle tickets to help pay for the needs of a patient who is undergoing chemotherapy. The proceeds will support Griffin, a black poodle, who is a very special dog to many people and who is now fighting cancer. He is also a beloved therapy dog who goes to the nursing home and other various events with hospital staff. He will travel to Memphis every 3 weeks for chemotherapy. The purchase of raffle tickets will help cover his treatments.

His mom states, “Griffin isn’t just our dog, he’s family, our best friend, our comfort through life’s hardest days. What makes him even more special is the way he has touched so many others. Through his therapy work, he has spent countless hours in nursing homes and hospitals, brightening rooms, lifting spirits, and bringing peace and joy to people who needed it most. His love has been a gift not only to our family, but to everyone lucky enough to meet him.”

Griffin has joined Crooked Creek for many years visiting MS Care Center of Morton, various school and D.A.R.E. events. The hospital staff has been blessed to have him bring smiles to everyone he meets.

Three gift baskets full of some wonderful items are available. These baskets are valued at over $2000. To all of those who donated, the hospital staff cannot thank you enough. Several posts have also been made on Crooked Creek’s Facebook page highlighting the donors.

The “Fall” basket is the biggest. This basket is valued at $1070. The MSU basket is valued at $700. The Ole Miss basket is valued at $750. It just takes 1 ticket to win, but more tickets increase your chances. Item lists can be found on Crooked Creek’s Facebook page. Also see photo galleries.

The hospital has had great success with the raffle so far for Griffin. If you haven’t had a chance to purchase tickets, you still have time. The drawing will be held on October 3rd.
