Ms. Kimberly Watson (Spanish teacher at Pelahatchie High School) recently presented, “Empowering Student Voice: Writing for Purpose in World Language Education,” at the 2025 American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Convention and World Languages Expo in New Orleans. A continuation of her 2024 ACTFL session in Philadelphia, PA, “The Crossroads: Building World Language Classrooms in Rural Education,” she shared evidence-based research findings with teachers to assist novice through AP level WL learners with their presentational writing skills, applicable learner support tools to support learners at all levels, and strategies for connecting not only WL Standards, but other content areas, as well.

Ms. Watson also attended the by- invitation-only ACTFL Assembly of Delegates. An interactive and collaborative workshop for state, regional, and national leaders of ACTFL’s organizational members.
