After an up and down season for both the men’s and women’s teams at Pelahatchie high school, both the teams have drawn Winona in the first round of the Class I tournament. The men sit with a 6-8 record, while the women sit at 5-9.
On the women’s side it’s been a season filled with huge highs and bad lows. With the team winning several games by 7 goals, but also losing several games by the same amount. The team enters this game off of a loss to Magee on January 29th. The Lady Chiefs will be a big underdog as they head to play a Winona team with 11 wins on the season.
On the men’s side it’s a similar story, the 6 win Chiefs have scored plenty of goals this season, but in every loss the team has allowed 3 or more goals. The men however, will be favored in the contest against Winona. A team that sits with just 6 wins as well, and has lost to several common opponents that Pelahatchie has defeated.
The women are scheduled to play first at 5:30 with the men to follow immediately after.
