After struggling to find consistency to start the season Pelahatchie baseball won 2 games in a row before dropping their last one against Lake. The Chiefs defeated Newton 32-3, and then defeated Raymond by a score of 11-0, before losing 13-1.
Before the victories came the team found themselves on a two game losing streak, only scoring 5 runs in that stretch. The offense woke up in the last two games putting video game numbers on the board vs Newton.
The offense kept rolling against Raymond, but it was the Sophomore pitching duo of Chase Parker and Brayden Nichols, combined for just 5 hits in their five innings of work. Neither pitcher gave up a run, and Nichols filled the stat sheet with five strikeouts in his 3 innings.
It was a different story against Lake, who have been very good this season, with a 7-2 record so far. The offense stagnated and the defense struggled. The two teams will meet again on March 6th as Pelahatchie looks to get back in the win column.
