Atkinson places 1st at reading fair

Congratulations to Emalynn Atkinson, a sixth grader at Pelahatchie Elementary, for placing 1st in the 6th–8th Grade Individual Literacy Fiction division for the Rankin County School District (RCSD) Reading Fair. Atkinson entered a story board featuring the book LINKED by Gordan Korman. Emalynn has participated in her school’s Reading Fair every year since kindergarten. This was the last year she was able to participate, and all of her persistence and hard work has paid off. She was received a trophy and was recognized at the RCSD school board meeting.
