In Loving Memory of Brenda Sue Westbrook
Brenda Sue Westbrook, 70, of Pelahatchie, Mississippi, peacefully passed away on July 14, 2026, in her home surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on April 26, 1956, in Laurel, Mississippi, Brenda was the beloved daughter of Jack and Nina Langley. She lived a life defined by compassion, resilience, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Brenda was the cherished wife of Larry Westbrook and a proud mother to Michelle Berry (Jamie Keetra), Jonathan Westbrook (Kimberly), Joshua Westbrook (Casey) and Frank Edwards(Kathy). Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving grandmother to Austin (Haley), Jesse (Kendall), Brianna (Kallie), Courtney (Justin), Tyler (Emily), Bailey (Elle Ryan), Tanner, Colin, Sarah (Tyler), and Robert. She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immeasurable happiness to her life. Beyond her own family, Brenda opened her heart to countless others who lovingly knew her simply as “Granny.” If you were lucky enough to know her, you knew there was always room at her table and always room in her heart.
Brenda dedicated much of her life as a caregiver. Caring for others wasn’t just what she did—it was who she was. Whether tending to someone’s needs, offering a comforting hug, preparing a home-cooked meal, or simply listening without judgment, Brenda made people feel loved, valued, and safe.
She found peace in her garden, joy in cooking for the people she loved, and treasured every moment spent surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her home was filled with laughter, warm meals, and unconditional love. She taught her family that the simplest moments often become life’s most treasured memories.
One prayer carried Brenda through life’s joys and hardships alike—the Serenity Prayer. It reflected the quiet strength and steadfast faith that guided her every day:
“God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”
Brenda’s legacy will not be measured by the years she lived, but by the countless lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. Her family will forever carry her lessons, her traditions, and the warmth of her embrace in their hearts. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her love remains woven into the lives of everyone she cared for.
Until we meet again, may we find comfort in knowing that heaven has welcomed home a beautiful soul whose greatest purpose was loving others.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our Mama, Mamaw and Granny
