Pelahatchie Elementary School welcomes new speech-language pathologist

Pelahatchie Elementary School is welcoming Megan Cooper to its staff for the 2026-27 school year as the school's new speech-language pathologist.

Cooper brings 11 years of experience in speech-language pathology and is passionate about helping students develop the communication skills they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

"My name is Megan Cooper, and I am excited to be a Chief this school year," Cooper said. "I have eleven years of experience as a speech language pathologist, and I enjoy helping students communicate more effectively."

Originally from the area, Cooper said she is eager to become part of the Pelahatchie Elementary community and work alongside students, families and fellow educators throughout the school year.

"I am married to my husband, Jeremy, and we have a five-month-old son, Finnley," Cooper said. "I look forward to a wonderful year working with students, families, and staff at Pelahatchie Elementary School."

School officials said they are pleased to welcome Cooper to the Pelahatchie Elementary team and look forward to the expertise and dedication she brings to supporting students' communication and academic success.

As the new school year begins, Cooper said she is excited to build positive relationships with students and families while helping every child reach their communication goals.
