Special to Pelahatchie News
Residents will have an opportunity to shop locally Saturday as the Pelahatchie Farmers Market returns to Muscadine Park.
The market will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 29, at Muscadine Park, 714 Second St.
The Pelahatchie Farmers Market is held on the last Saturday of each month from April through November, according to a statewide farmers market roundup published Aug. 28 by Magnolia Tribune.
The community market brings together local farmers, producers and artisans, giving residents an opportunity to support small businesses while purchasing locally produced goods.
Previous Pelahatchie Farmers Market vendors have offered a variety of products, including locally produced honey, grass-fed beef, fresh-cut flowers, produce, jellies and pickled vegetables.
Farmers markets also provide shoppers with an opportunity to purchase products directly from growers and producers and learn more about where their food comes from.
Muscadine Park serves as a gathering place for a variety of community activities and events throughout the year.
