Pelahatchie Elementary was recently named a 2026-27 Mississippi Emerging Science of Reading School by the Mississippi Department of Education. This designation recognizes schools where educators are putting the science of reading into practice, strengthening classroom instruction, and creating a schoolwide culture dedicated to developing skillful, strong readers in kindergarten through third grade.
The recognition reflects the dedication of Pelahatchie’s teachers and staff who continue to grow their knowledge, refine their instructional practices, and make literacy a priority for every student. Congratulations, Pelahatchie Elementary!
