Rodeo fans can enjoy an afternoon of bucking horses, bucking bulls and barrel racing Saturday while supporting two local organizations at the 11th Annual Rankin County Bucking Bronc Bash.
The benefit rodeo is scheduled for Oct. 17 at 122 Justin Drive. Gates open at 12:30 p.m., and the rodeo begins at 2 p.m. Admission is $12, and children 10 and younger are admitted free.
Proceeds will benefit the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Department and Ever Reaching Community Outreach (ERCO), bringing community members together for an event that combines Western-style entertainment with support for local causes.
The rodeo features several events that showcase the athleticism and skill of both riders and animals. Bucking horse and bull competitions challenge riders to maintain their balance and control as the animals attempt to throw them off, while barrel racing tests competitors' speed and ability to navigate a cloverleaf pattern around three barrels.
For spectators, the combination offers an afternoon of fast-paced competition and traditional rodeo action. The event also gives families an opportunity to enjoy an outdoor activity, with free admission for children 10 and younger.
The 11th annual event continues a tradition of bringing rodeo enthusiasts and community supporters together for a shared cause. Its benefit format gives attendees an opportunity to support the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Department and ERCO while enjoying the competition.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend Saturday's event and help support the organizations receiving proceeds from the rodeo.
